Who are we

PGG Seeds is a proprietary seed business and a subsidiary of PGG Wrightson Seeds involved in research, breeding, evaluation and marketing of temperate forage species. PGG Seeds markets cultivars to the temperate areas, predominately in Australia, North and South America.

Today’s farmers, face many challenges in today’s competitive agricultural environment including unique climatic conditions, varying soil types and feed requirements. Our objective is to provide customers with cultivars which can be matched to their specific farming system throughout these temperate areas.

PGG Seeds offers a full range of temperate pasture species including grasses, clovers, herbs and brassicas.

The significant contribution of pastures to a successful, financially sound farming economy is reflected by the level of science and research which goes into the breeding and evaluation of PGG Seeds cultivars. PGG Seeds breeding facility is based in Christchurch, New Zealand with extensive off-site evaluation programmes in Victoria, New South Wales and Southern Queensland. This extensive research, breeding and evaluation gives farmers access to cultivars with beneficial advances in pest and disease tolerance, for better persistence, productivity and reliable animal performance.
